Higgsfield (subscription)
Higgsfield is an aggregator with a twist: it's billed by subscription plan credits, not an API key — which makes it the door into Brut for people who hold a higgsfield.ai plan and nothing else. Brut uses it as a route: it never adds a model to the menu, it serves models Brut already carries when you hold no native key for them, always visibly marked ⇄ runs via Higgsfield on the node.
Current mirror set (verified against the official tool's own model catalog):
- Images — Nano Banana (image→image), Nano Banana 2 (text/image→image), Nano Banana 2 Lite (text→image, 1K), Nano Banana Pro (text/image→image, up to 4K), GPT Image 2 (text/image→image, sizes as Higgsfield's 1k/2k/4k resolutions).
- Video — Kling v3 (with end frames), Kling v3 Turbo, Kling v2.6, Veo 3.1, Veo 3.1 Fast, Veo 3.1 Lite (with end frames, 8-second clips), Seedance 2.0 — including the Kling (subscription) menu entries, so a seat without the Kling sign-in falls back here instead of dead-ending.
Where Higgsfield lacks a knob the native API has, the node hides it and says so in the price note — the common ones: no inpaint masks, no end frame on Kling 2.6 / v3 Turbo / Veo 3.1 (non-Lite), and no audio switch on Veo 3.1 (clips come with audio).
Setup — no key, two buttons
Higgsfield has no API key. Auth is a browser sign-in owned by Higgsfield's official command-line tool, which Brut manages for you. In ⚙ Settings → Higgsfield (subscription) (or the setup wizard):
- Install Higgsfield CLI — Brut fetches the official tool from Higgsfield's own GitHub release (≈19 MB, one time, integrity-checked). Nothing else is needed — the tool is self-contained.
- Log in to Higgsfield — your browser opens on higgsfield.ai; sign in with your normal account. The session is stored by Higgsfield's tool on your machine — Brut never sees or stores the credential.
That's it: routed models light up the moment the sign-in lands. A Log out button appears while you're signed in — use it to switch accounts (finished generations stay on disk).
Higgsfield's own platform carries many more models (Kling, WAN, Sora 2, Veo, Flux, Seedream…). Brut adds a route only after verifying each one's real API contract against the official tool — the list here grows as they're pinned, never speculatively.
Billing honesty
- Generations bill your plan's credits, exactly as if you'd used higgsfield.ai directly. Brut adds nothing and shows no invented USD estimates — credit rates aren't pinned yet, so routed runs show no price rather than a made-up one. The ledger still records every run.
- Your direct key always wins: add a Gemini or BytePlus key later and those models switch back to direct billing automatically.
- Higgsfield resells other providers' models under its own margin — if you generate a lot, a direct API key is usually cheaper. The subscription route is about simplicity, not price.
Limits worth knowing
- A routed run carries exactly the knobs the route declares — anything else fails loudly instead of being silently dropped (Inpaint masks, for example, don't route).
- Audio on video models always follows your node toggle — never Higgsfield's default.
- Provider-side tasks may not be cancellable: cancelling in Brut stops the polling, but plan credits may still be spent.
- Outputs are downloaded to your project's disk like every provider — restart-safe, journaled, in the ledger.
